CHALLENGE
Deep geothermal development requires fast drilling in very hard and abrasives rocks. Conventional methods show limited performances, leading to costs surges.
ORCHYD SOLUTION
Combining two innovative rock breaking technics: grooves cutting with High-Pressure Water jets and fluid driven percussion drilling. The increase in performances will lead to a significant cost reduction.
METHODOLOGY
The project relies on numerical simulation techniques and experimental benches to design, test and optimize the integrated HPWJ-percussive drilling solution.
